Topological Charge Measurement of a Partially Coherent Vortex Beam Using Dual Cylindrical Lenses with an Arbitrary Angle

چکیده

For a partially coherent Laguerre–Gaussian (PCLG) vortex beam, information regarding the topological charge (TC) is concealed in cross-spectral density (CSD) function phase. Herein, flexible method for simultaneous determination of sign and magnitude TC PCLG beam proposed based on measured CSD amplitude phase after propagates through dual cylindrical lens with adjustable angles. Both stripes exhibit quantitative relationships value TC, that is, N=2l+1. Meanwhile, angle adjustability lenses allows measurements, thus rendering scheme effective both high extreme coherences.

Evolution of singularities in a partially coherent vortex beam.

We study the evolution of phase singularities and coherence singularities in a Laguerre-Gauss beam that is rendered partially coherent by letting it pass through a spatial light modulator. The original beam has an on-axis minumum of intensity--a phase singularity--that transforms into a maximum of the far-field intensity. In contrast, although the original beam has no coherence singularities, s...

The transition from a coherent optical vortex to a Rankine vortex: beam contrast dependence on topological charge

Spatially coherent helically phased light beams carry orbital angular momentum (OAM) and contain phase singularities at their centre. Destructive interference at the position of the phase singularity means the intensity at this point is necessarily zero, which results in a high contrast between the centre and the surrounding annular intensity distribution. Beams of reduced spatial coherence yet...

Vortex beam propagation through atmospheric turbulence and topological charge conservation.

The propagation of vortex beams through weak-to-strong atmospheric turbulence is simulated and analyzed. It is demonstrated that the topological charge of such a beam is a robust quantity that could be used as an information carrier in optical communications. The advantages and limitations of such an approach are discussed.

Beam Injection Experiments using Space Charge Lenses

Space charge lenses for ion beam focussing are in theory, especially for singly charged heavy ion beams at low velocities, superior to other lens systems [1]. On the other hand previous experiments [2] have shown, in contrary to the theoretical forecast, a small degree of lens filling and serious emittance growth. Newer experiments [3] demonstrated a much better degree of lens filling and subst...

Reliability Analysis of FSO Communication Links Using Aberrated Divergent rectangular Partially Coherent Flat- Topped Beam

The effects of aberration on the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) and reliability of free- space optical (FSO) communication links are investigated. Based on aberrated divergent rectangular partially coherent flat-topped beam formula on the receiver plane and considering the atmosphere losses due to absorption and scattering, numerical values for Power In Bucket (PIB), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and BER a...
